Hopefully it will be somewhat ready next spring for Fools. The body's gone except a bad tub and a holely hood. Tubing is stacked in the garage for a full cage.
I am still looking for motor, auto tranny combo. (Jay pm sent) A propane powered 6 was the initial plan. I have a transfer case from a '79 Bronco. Axles are welded and 4" blocks in the back. Anyone have 5" coils for the front?
6/16/10 Seems like just a month ago I started this project. It was a good feeling just to have a clean build slate with a few junk parts.

I have a new set of cage 5" coils I would let go. There $166.75 from cage, I'll sell them for $145.00. Let me know if you or anyone else is interested.

Jay the trannies been refreshed, but the motor will stay in storage until I can get some sheet metal over it. A junk 302 is in its place to make room on the engine stand.
Big hurdle and need help. What have others done for a crossmember for a NP205? It looks like a custom install with the front output in the way . The 205 is sitting on a jackstand in the pic.

Vandals. I went out to the shop to work on the buggy and found the leaf spring hangers ripped right off the frame! I caught the 65 yr old punk.Probably should get my father a nice Christmas present for it too. It's been fun working on the project with him.Attachment: no leaf perches 452.JPG (Downloaded 163 times) Last edited on Sun Dec 20th, 2009 03:43 am by Sweathog

With the 205 I had , we did an "A" shaped crossmemeber on the passenger side to the middle of the tranny mount and used the 3 bolt hole on the T case and some angle iron to the frame . The mount on the T case was use on some Ford pickups as an extra susport . We did a new crossmember when I put in the Stak

| Solved the crossmember problem. We used the EB brackets , 4" channel to come accross from the top of the front driveshaft and down underneath for support. Used angel to make the side mount on top the frame with a pair of hockey pucks for bushings. I don't have a good pic, but it's stout and works. | Stock coil springs, rod ends and Ballistic joints, 1/4 plate and the 4- link is done. Ran out of time to mock up a driveshaft but it should clear easy. I wanted to throw some tires on it and see if it flexed well. I spent alot of hours pre-fab figuriong out antisquat, instant roll center, and all that jazz. The brackets, except the upper arm farme bracket, went as planned. Attachment: 4 link 464.JPG (Downloaded 147 times)

| Low buck, I used EB stock front coils to start. Post installation it might be better to with 2-1/2 lift springs and mount the upper bracket at the top of the frame. We'll see on trail sometime this summer. Attachment: coil spring 467.JPG (Downloaded 147 times)

| Frame mounts, Planned to make the upper link frame mounts lower. I mis-measured somewhere and too many things were already welded in. The 4-link calculator still gave me 98% squat and dead even ratio on rear steer. It stays until proven otherwise. Attachment: upper mounts468.JPG (Downloaded 147 times)
